Raven Software fundamentally believe that a balanced weapon ecosystem is important for creating an exciting, varied, and enjoyable experience for all styles of players. The recent upgrades and changes to the weapons reflect the commitment and passion that we have for the game and the wonderful community that has grown for Call of Duty Online. The changes have been made to address the concern that some weapons were more powerful than others. Instead of one or two weapons being the “go to” weapon we have crafted the weapons to have their own strengths and weaknesses for players to explore, each weapon has its unique game play style. These changes allow players to expand beyond a single weapon choice and to explore different ways to play the game. Sniper rifle changes have balanced out the weapon type while retaining the core feature that they take skill to master. Players can now choosing a sniper rifle based on their play style and that they will not be outclassed simply by a different weapon. In general, mobile snipers that rely on twitch reflexes may see higher success with a rifle that fires faster while players who have confidence in their precision aiming may prefer the slower firing rifles. There are many ways that players can enjoy the game. In the end, it is all about creating the most compelling and varied game experience we can offer.
